A Class 1, 2, 3 or 4 commercial driver’s license allows you to drive commercial vehicles — for example, taxis, ambulances, school buses and vehicles with more than two axles such as dump trucks and large commercial transport trucks. For more details about the license classes, see Types of licences. And note that the driving guide for commercial vehicles — Driving Commercial Vehicles — is available on the ICBC website in downloadable PDF format. To drive vehicles equipped with air brakes, you must have an air brake endorsement. See Air brake endorsements for full details.
Certified Class 1,2,3 and 4 courses include, commercial transport theory, load security theory and practical and on road training and text books. Air-brake training and classes are held monthly.
